Physical therapy software · US and Canada

A newcomer in a category owned by familiar names. 110% more monthly clicks.

I started on SEO for a home exercise software company serving physical therapists at the end of 2025. The site was young, there was no blog yet, and buyers met long-established brands first. From February to August 2026, monthly clicks grew about 110%, while monthly impressions grew 640%.

Starting point

Little reach in a crowded category

The product lets therapists film their own exercise videos for patients instead of picking from a stock library. Physical therapists were the core audience, with chiropractors, OTs and the wider world of movement specialists next in line. The main market was the US, with Canada as a second.

February 2026, my first complete month, brought a few dozen clicks from about 1,200 impressions, or only around 40 a day. No outside SEO or marketing firm had been involved before, the blog was still to come, and anyone comparing this kind of software met well-known brands long before this one.

What I did

Starting from a clean slate

The steps below cover the brief the client set at the start and how I measured progress against it.

  1. 01

    Define the buyer

The brief put therapists who would rather assign exercises they designed themselves at the centre, then widened to chiropractors and occupational therapists. That set the order of priority for the searches worth chasing: professional, clinician-side questions first, the broader movement-professional audience after that.

  2. 02

    Plan the blog launch

Nothing on the site yet addressed what therapists type into Google, and launching a blog was part of the engagement from day one. A product up against established names needs that kind of content just to be found, well before a buyer reaches the point of comparing vendors side by side.

  3. 03

Tie search to the real goal

The client's six-month goal was more subscribers. Search is the first step towards a sign-up, so I tracked clicks and impressions month by month as the leading signal for that goal.

  4. 04

    Measure in comparable windows

With only seven complete months, single-month swings could mislead. So alongside the monthly view I set the opening three months against the closing three, and counted days with at least three clicks as a check on whether traffic was getting steadier, not just bigger.

The result

Seven months in

August 2026 brought about 110% more clicks than February, and June was the best month at around 110. The last three months of the window were the strongest. Comparing the closing three months with the opening three, clicks rose about 70%.

Reach grew faster than clicks. Monthly impressions in August were 640% above February's, and daily impressions rose about 110% between the two three-month windows. The count of days with at least three clicks rose about 80%, so traffic became steadier as well as larger.
