A clinic found mostly by people who already knew its name. 3,300% more top-three keywords.
In April 2026 I planned the content for a medical aesthetics clinic whose search traffic leaned heavily on people typing its name. The plan went after the questions people ask before booking a treatment. Between May and August the keywords the site held in Google's top three went from a couple of dozen to over 700, and monthly clicks peaked in July about 50% above May.

Leaning on the brand name
The clinic offers skin, facial and body treatments, injectables and hair restoration, and sells its own skincare. Over May 2026, the opening month with complete data, the site earned clicks in the low hundreds at an average position near 15. Close to half of the keyword-level clicks came from people typing the clinic's own name.
Only a couple of hundred queries showed the site at all, and just over 20 put it in the top three. The whole site ran to around 40 URLs, among them a handful of treatment hub pages, under a dozen articles and an online shop. One microneedling comparison post was doing almost all of the explaining.
Mapping treatments to real questions
The work was research first, then a finished keyword plan with clear ground rules for what the clinic should publish.
- 01
Catalogue the site first
Before planning anything I listed every URL on the site, page by page, and checked the clinic's actual treatments on the live pages. That way each keyword in the plan mapped to something the clinic really offers, and nothing in it promised a service the team does not provide.
- 02
Build a long-tail keyword plan
The plan, finished on 23 April 2026, held about 75 long-tail keywords grouped into 11 treatment areas, ranging over skin, facial ageing, body shaping, intimate health and hair loss. Almost all were informational, split between early research and comparison or decision questions, with only three aimed squarely at booking a consultation.
- 03
Screen every keyword for overlap
Each keyword was checked against existing pages for cannibalisation. The large majority came out low risk, a few medium, and one was marked not to publish at all. The plan also carried internal-linking notes, so broad topics would point readers on to several treatment pages instead of a single one.
- 04
Set the audience and the tone
The plan prioritised new mothers, women going through hormonal change in midlife, and a rising number of male clients. The tone put the consultation first, set honest expectations and treated sensitive subjects with clinical care. Device-against-device comparisons were put near the top of the list.
What four months produced
Between May and August 2026 the site went from ranking for a couple of hundred keywords to about 1,600, and from fewer than a hundred on page one to more than 1,100. Average position improved from about 15 to 11 as impressions grew more than 400%. Posts on planned topics led the site's results for 14 searches in August, up from one in May.
Year on year, June to August clicks came in about 12% above the same months of 2025, with nearly 200% more impressions. Many of the new top-three keywords are long questions that only turn up a time or two each month.
